Hackettstown War Memorial |

The
Hackettstown War Memorial was established
in 1763. It contains remains of 29 Revolutionary War Patriots from
Hackettstown (Helms’ Mill
Area). The Burial Ground is being restored and funded by efforts of Hackettstown Olde Burial Ground Committee and First Presbyterian Church. Burial Ground tours at scheduled events with modest donation for restoration fund. Historical information concerning Hackettstown Ancestral burials sought.  The
May 28, 2001 rededication of the Hackettstown Civil War Statue has
made it the focal point as the Gateway to Warren County. The Statue
is
located at the five corners on the triangular point between Will Grove
Street and Mill Street. The original Statue stood from 1896 until
destroyed by Contractors attempting to remove it from the center of the
five corners in 1926.The Statue was replaced 75 years later through the efforts of a small dedicated committee of area residents. The committee invites all area residents to visit the Statue to read the inscriptions on the pedestal and pavers in the walkways leading to the Statue. Pavers are available. There are two sizes of pavers: 4x8 for $50.00 and 8x8 for $100.00.
