The Tax Collector performs a wide range of duties including preparation and mailing of annual tax bills, posting and processing all tax payments, providing the Council with a variety of reports that reflect accurate collection and enforcing all statutes regarding the collection of taxes.

Tax Rate 
The 2007 tax rate has been struck at $3.98 per $100 of assessed value.  
Please be advised that 2007 Final/2008 Preliminary Tax Bills should be in 
the mail by Friday, July 20, 2007.  Please read your new tax bill carefully
for the extended due date for the August quarter.  Should you have any 
questions, contact the Tax Collector at 908.852.3130

The office is open Monday through Friday from 9:00am to 5:00pm, but closed from 1:00 to 2:00 for lunch. The telephone number to reach the Collector is 908.852.3130. Hackettstown residents are welcome to leave a voice mail message if I am not able to come to the phone. However, out of area calls cannot be returned and the caller should try the call later in the day.
