Hackettstown Alliance for Drug PreventionSince 1989 The Hackettstown Alliance for Drug Prevention has been addressing the challenge of substance abuse in Hackettstown area citizens of all ages. The Alliance is a volunteer committee with representation from Hackettstown Public Schools, St. Mary’s School, Hackettstown Community Hospital, Hackettstown Police Department, Hackettstown PTA, St. Mary’s Home School Association, Centenary College, the Hackettstown Area Chamber of Commerce and The Star Gazette. The committee selects substance abuse programs that will provide a broad-based prevention effort in our community. Funded by the Governor’s Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse and the Town of Hackettstown, the Hackettstown Alliance remains part of a network of more than 500 Municipal Alliances throughout New Jersey, all providing drug prevention education in communities large and small throughout the state. The Hackettstown Alliance for Drug Prevention sponsors all (A) or part (P) of the following programs:
Research shows that it'll take a broad-based effort involving students, parents, teachers, employers, and law enforcement to address this very complex and dangerous problem.
