Finance (CFO) Office

ATTENTION VENDORS:

Effective September 1, 2004, New Jersey State Law requires that all business organizations (except non-profit) that do business with a local contracting agency be registered with the State and provide proof of that registration to the contracting agency. Proof of registration means a copy of the organizations’ BUSINESS REGISTRATION CERTIFICATE issued by the Department of Treasury, Division of Revenue.

For more details on this law, or to apply for or download a copy of your Business Registration Certificate, vendors can log onto www.nj.gov/treasury/revenue/busregcert.htm

The Finance Department is responsible for the receipt and disbursement of all municipal funds. All revenues are recorded by the finance office, and all purchases made by the town departments must first be approved by the finance office. The Chief Finance Officer works closely with all department heads to ensure compliance with fiscal and purchasing laws as set forth by the State of New Jersey Division of Local Government Services, as well as the administration of each department’s respective budget. The Chief Financial Officer also assists the Mayor and Council in the preparation of the annual budget. In addition to revenue collection and purchasing, the Hackettstown Finance Office is responsible for employee payroll, pensions and benefits.

To reach the Town of Hackettstown Chief Finance Officer, Danette Dyer, call Town Hall at (908) 852-3130 or by e-mail, cfo@hackettstown.net.
